Quang Binh tourism had two wonderful Caves, that are Phong Nha Cave and Paradise Cave. Besides, Quang Binh has beautiful beaches such as Nhat Le and Da Nhay. The appropriate time to come to Quang Binh is the summer, guests can travel in the forest and come into the beach. Touristors should stay two to three days to get the feeling about the Quang Binh land.


Paradise is a great cave in National Park Phong Nha-Ke Bang, Son Trach commune, Bo Trach District, Quang Binh, located in 60 km from Dong Hoi from the northwest.

The cave is located in the forest zone of ecological restoration of the limestone core zone of the national park of Phong Nha – Ke Bang.

Paradise Cave was discovered in 2005, British Caving Association discovered from 2005 – 2010 and in 2010 they announced this cave has a total length of 31.4 km, the longest cave in Asia. Because of the beauty of stalactites and stalagmites in the cave, they named this cave is Paradise. According to the Association of the British Cave Research, Paradise cave is bigger and more beautiful than the Phong Nha Cave.

Paradise Cave is a dynamic dry cave, Paradise cave has no underground rivers flow by as the Phong Nha Cave. According to a preliminary survey of the researchers, compared with the Phong Nha Cave, Paradise is much larger and longer scale. In Paradise there are cave stalactite and stalagmite fantasy. Much of this soil is soil plasticity, quite flat so convenient for sightseeing and exploring. The temperature inside the Paradise is always difference about 16 C compared to outside degree. leo.

Road to paradise cave from the Ho Chi Minh Road (west branch) km 16 section, reaching to the door of Paradise Cave is about 7 km long. Before the service of tourism establishments were built, we have to tape up to the forest and climb the hill to the cave entrance when we would like to come to the cave. Paradise Cave has been invested by Truong Thinh Group on entrance ramps, stairs and inner roads with a length of 1.1 km and has welcomed visitors from September 3, 2010.

After the entrance road was built and put into operation for tourism from September 3, 2010.Touristors get off to walk or ride the 1.6 km road by golf car to concrete surface road under the forest, after that guests could come to the hill for climbing 522 stone steps to the cave entrance.


Phong Nha – Ke Bang is belong to Ke Bang, Son Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province, located about 50km north-west from the center of Dong Hoi city.

Phong Nha Cave became one of the famous attractions of Quang Binh, Phong Nha Cave was named the most wonderful cave of south Vietnam.

Phong Nha is the wet cave with underground river. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the front cave entrance after going on the Son river flow. Nature has been grandiose and surprise you once hovered over the river Son. Flanked by majestic mountains, lush trees, it deserves a recognized as a world natural heritage by UNESCO. Phong Nha cave has trapezoidal entrance, just over 10 meters height, with a width from 25cm to about 30cm. The more you go deep inside, visitors have a feeling cool atmosphere different from the hot of the land air wind just outside the entrance. Weathering process at Phong Nha took place 250 million years ago. Phong Nha is only shaped terrain and mountainous limestone soil, the height is about 600m altitude. Phong Nha Cave has a narrow and steep cliffs. The total area of Phong Nha is about 10 000km2 predicted, extending over 200 kilometers up to northern of Truong Son, and direction throughout Laos. Phong Nha Cave possesses a underground river, go through the Son River, Trooc River, Chay River, Rao Thuong River and comes from the small streams. The water crept to the En cave before flowing deep into the limestone, forming caves as large as today.

Travelling Phong Nha Ke Bang in Quang Binh, you will discover a lot of large and small parts such as Bi Ki cave, Tien cave,Cung Dinh cave. While in the cave there are many unique emulsion rocks naturally shaped like the unicorn, lion image, the statue of Buddha, depending on the creativity of visitors. Son Doong Cave – is the largest natural cave in the world. This cave is located in the caves of Phong Nha-Ke Bang. Cave is part of the underground system with connections to more than 150 caves , located near the border Laos.

April 22, 2009, delegation of British Caving Association led by Howard Limbirt announced the discovery of the cave and said that the scale of the Son Doong cave is actually the world’s largest cave.

Limestone mountains Vietnam-Laos border areas are more like Phong Nha cave was known long ago, but the Son Doong cave was discovered only in 1991 when Ho Khanh, a local people accidentally found when escaped on entrance to avoid the rain. With a period in 2006 when the expedition British Caving Association to the area, the Ho Khanh has informed them his exploration. It took a long time to find again the entrance which is located deep in the jungle with pretty rugged terrain, away from the road and can not found on Google Earth. Under his guidance, they went deeper into the cave, took photograph, measure and collect scientific data. They also gave Ho Khanh a great honor to named the cave.
